Session Descriptions:
Week 1: Myth, Archetype, and the Cosmic Story
We begin our journey by exploring the foundations of myth and archetype through the insights of Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung, viewing them as mirrors of both the human psyche and the cosmos itself. Archetypes are universal patterns that surface across cultures and throughout time—appearing in dreams, myths, and non-ordinary states of consciousness as symbols of deeper truth. As we explore these motifs, we will consider how they also reflect a larger, living field of cosmic consciousness—a unified intelligence that expresses itself through story, symbol, and the evolution of awareness. By recognizing ourselves as participants within this mythic and cosmic framework, we begin to understand how ancient wisdom continues to shape modern awakenings.
Week 2: The Hero’s Journey and the Evolution of the Soul
Ancient myths often portray the hero or god on a path of ordeal, initiation, and transformation—a mirror of humanity’s enduring search for meaning. This week we trace that journey through figures such as Gilgamesh, Buddha, Jesus, Tammuz (Dumuzi), and the Fisher King, recognizing how their stories symbolize the soul’s evolution toward wholeness. We also look at emerging parallels in today’s language of awakening—the Lightbearer, Galactic Messenger, or Ascending Hero—modern expressions of the same archetypal current that urges humanity to remember its divine and cosmic origins.
Week 3: The Descent of the Feminine and Mystical Union
This session turns inward to the archetypal descent—the sacred journey of surrender, death, and rebirth that awakens higher consciousness. We explore the myths of Inanna’s Descent, Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, the Black Madonna, and the Handless Maiden, tracing how each embodies the Feminine principle of transformation through vulnerability and devotion. These myths resonate with today’s re-emergence of the Cosmic Mother—the Sophianic, compassionate intelligence that births both matter and consciousness. Through reflection and dialogue, we consider how opening to this current within ourselves expands the heart and bridges the personal with the universal.
Week 4: Living Myth and the Cosmic Self
In our closing week, you will identify the myth or archetype that most deeply mirrors your own soul’s unfolding and share how it has guided a transformative moment in your life. As we weave our individual stories together, we explore how ancient archetypes continue to reappear in new forms—the Shaman and the Starseed, the Hero and the Lightworker, the Divine Mother and the Cosmic Feminine—each reminding us that myth is alive within the evolution of human consciousness. Through reflection, breath, and group dialogue, we integrate these patterns into daily life, awakening the awareness that we are both participants and co-creators in an ever-expanding cosmic story.
